The Berlin Fire Wardens have LIFTED the Burn ban! Permits are required. Permits may be issued by the following personnel:

Andy Lacasse – Asst. Fire Warden – 229-9504 – 8am-9pm
Fire Station – Leave a message – 223-5531 Option 2
 
Permits are required to burn brush, grass, leaves and branches at any time there isn’t snow on the ground (Title 10 § 2645)

Permits may be canceled at any time if conditions change or the fire creates a nuisance. An individual is not required to have a permit for a campfire (any fire less than 3 foot diameter for cooking or warming) on their own land. Fires much be attended at all times. Permitted fires must be out by dark unless special
permission is granted. It is illegal to burn (Sections 5-201, 202, and 203 VT Air Pollution Regulations) and permits will not be
issued to burn:
trash, tires, Plywood, pressure treated lumber, garbage,
foam, construction or demolition debris abandoned
buildings, unless being used for a Fire Department
training.
